Pramila Bahini files mass complaint against opening of licensed liquor store near schools in Rajganj

Rajganj, 18th December: The women of Pramila Bahini have filed a mass complaint with the Bhorer Alo Police Station in Rajganj opposing the opening of a government-licensed liquor store in their locality.

The complaint was filed on Wednesday by women from Sahudangi, Shibnath Para, Baniapara, Birban, and surrounding areas within the Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block.

The women asserted that the liquor store would be opening near Canal More in Sahudangi. They expressed serious concerns about the store’s proximity to several government and private schools in the area. The group feared that the presence of a liquor store would negatively impact the environment and lead to increased substance abuse among young children.

The women also voiced safety concerns, stating that it would become difficult for them to travel through the area after dark if the store was allowed to operate. They further anticipated a rise in domestic disputes due to the alcohol availability in the area.
