Siliguri, 23rd September: The Pradhan Nagar police launched operations and recovered stolen goods.
Incidentally, a burglary took place at the house of Taseji Doma Tamang, a resident of Milan More, on September 18. The next day, Tamang lodged a complaint at the Pradhannagar Police Station. Police launched investigations and arrested the domestic helper of the house, Hema Orao. After questioning her, the police recovered the stolen goods from Malbazar. Police also arrested a trader named Joydev Roy on charges of buying stolen goods.
According to police sources, Hema Orao went to Malbazar and sold a stolen gold bracelet to Roy for Rs 18,000. Police also recovered Rs 8,500, a mobile phone, and several other items from Hema. The duo was produced at Siliguri court today.
