Siliguri, 29th November: The Pradhan Nagar Circle team of the Excise Department busted the business of preparing spurious liquor and arrested three individuals including a woman. The arrested accused have been stated as Rohit Gupta, Jaswant Gupta, and Savita Kumari Singh. In addition, the team also seized a scooter and a huge quantity of spirit and other raw materials.
According to reports, the team under the leadership of Ankur Roy, the Pradhan Nagar Circle-in-charge of the Excise Department, in collaboration with Bagdogra Circle, launched a tip-off operation in Panchanan Colony of Ward No. 1 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).
Upon being suspicious of the raid, the individuals involved in preparing spurious liquor attempted to flee from the spot, however, the team arrested three people, including a woman. During the course of the operation, the team also seized a scooter along with a huge quantity of spirit and other raw materials.
On Wednesday, all three accused were produced before the Siliguri court. At present, the Pradhan Nagar Circle team of the Excise Department is engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire matter.
