Siliguri, 22nd December: The Porajhar Kawakhali Land Protection Committee raised voice demanding the return of land to the farmers of Porajhar Kawakhali. All India Kisan Mazdoor Sangh (AIKMS) also stood by the agitating farmers.
On Wednesday, a rally was taken out to demand the return of land to the farmers. The rally concluded at Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri.
AIKMS central vice-president Sushant Jha said, “Poor people have been deceived. Farmers of Porajhar Kawakhali did not get the proper price for their land. I would like to draw the attention of the government through today’s rally. If no action is taken even after this, we will stage larger demonstrations.”
