Police jumps into action against illegal parking of freight trucks in Fulbari

Rajganj, 30th November: Despite repeated warnings from the administration, freight trucks are often spotted parked across Asian Highway 2 at Fulbari border check post. In view of this, on Tuesday, the Jalpai More traffic police, along with BSF, launched operations at the Fulbari border.

Apart from trade between India, Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh, tourists from abroad also travel through this route. Numerous immigration centres are also located along the Fulbari border. However, around a kilometre of the road is jammed with trucks causing traffic congestion from Fulbari More to the border check post. As a result, people are facing huge difficulties.

In today’s drive, the police and BSF removed hundreds of trucks from the road. The police warned that strict action will be taken if any traffic congestion gets created again.

Meanwhile, Shubhankar Naskar, secretary of the Fulbari Truck Owners Association, said that there is a lack of parking space at the border for freight vehicles.
