Police foil armed robbery attempt in Siliguri, 4 arrested

Siliguri, 01st March: In a significant achievement, the cops of Siliguri police station have successfully foiled a major robbery attempt and apprehended four miscreants in connection to the case. The arrested accused have been identified as Nandu Tirkey (26), Vishal Rawat (23), Trideb Mahanto (25), and Bikash Sahani (19), all residents of areas adjacent to Siliguri.


According to reports, on Thursday night, the police received a tip-off about several miscreants gathered in the Bagrakote bus stand area. Based on the information, the Anti-Crime Wing of the Siliguri police station launched an operation and foiled the robbery plan. Subsequently, the police arrested the four miscreants in the act while the others managed to escape.

Additionally, the police officers recovered several items from the accused, including a knife, an iron rod, and a lock cutter. On Friday, the accused were produced before the Siliguri Court for legal proceedings. Currently, the police are on the hunt to nab the other associated criminals.
