Siliguri, 24th June: DCP Nima Norbu Bhutia and ACP Swapan Sarkar, during a press conference, stated that the Siliguri Metropolitan Police arrested several people from various parts of the city on charges of robbery. Stolen gold jewelry, mobile phones, and other items were recovered from their possession. However, some cases are still under investigation.
As per the information, the Siliguri, Panitanki, and Khalpara outpost police launched operations based on a tip-off and successfully got hold of the accused individuals.
In this context, East Zone DCP Nima Norbu Bhutia stated that a couple of major thefts took place in the city during the lockdown. A total of 5 people have been arrested in connection with these incidents. However, several cases are still under investigation.
