Siliguri, 04th November: A petrol pump located adjacent to Champasari More has come under fire for allegedly deceiving a customer of refueling his pickup van. This incident took place on Friday night and led to a widespread commotion in the area.
According to reports, on Friday evening, the pickup van driver had arrived at the petrol pump and refilled his vehicle with approximately 11 liters of diesel at the Champasari petrol pump, costing Rs 1,010. However, upon driving up to the Devidanga Haat (weekly market) the driver discovered that the fuel gauge of the vehicle displayed an empty fuel tank despite refilling the vehicle. Following this, he returned to the said petrol station within an hour and alleged that his vehicle was not refilled worth the payment. Further, in order to corroborate the claim, the driver opened the tank to show that only about five or six liters of fuel remained in the tank.
In the meantime, the management of the petrol station reported that the driver had refilled his vehicle with diesel worth Rs. 1010 in the evening and had left the pump without complaining. Following this, the truck driver returned to the petrol pump raising allegations of insufficient diesel after approximately an hour. Additionally, the management proceeded to file a complaint against the driver for raising false allegations. Upon receiving the information, the Pradhan Nagar police station dispatched officers to the scene and immediately initiated an investigation into the entire affair.
