Jalpaiguri, 05th April: Despite the nation-wide lockdown, fermented beer, locally known as Hariya, is being largely sold at various areas of Jalpaiguri, especially near the Danguajhar Tea Garden area.
As the administration has ordered a complete shutdown of liquor shops amid lockdown, the sale of Hariya has increased considerably in Jalpaiguri. People have been spotted savoring the drink sitting under the bamboo tree next to the said tea garden premises.
