Rajganj, 11th November: People are facing huge difficulties due to heavy traffic congestion on the road across India-Bangladesh border. Besides, the tourists traveling across the border also face the same problem. Police conducted occasional raids but the situation did not change. Hundreds of trucks are spotted parked on Asian Highway 2 every day.
Before Puja, Siliguri Metropolitan Police and Jalpaiguri Traffic Police launched operations in the said area and cleared the road, but the problem surfaced once again.
Locals said that although the administration has taken action on the issue earlier, the situation comes up again after a few days. It seems like the road has turned into a full parking space.
Shubhankar Naskar, secretary of the Fulbari Truck Owners Association, said that the administration has taken action. But the problem still persists.
