Siliguri, 26th July: While Siliguri is under a complete lockdown until next Wednesday, several people fail to understand the gravity of the current alarming situation and are frequently spotted breaching the lockdown protocols.
A crowd of people was sighted in various market areas including Siliguri’s Gate Bazar, Subhaspally Bazaar, and Shanti Nagar since Sunday morning ignoring the lockdown. People were spotted buying commodities in the market without maintaining social distance. Some vegetable vendors and customers were sighted wearing face masks pulled down under their noses.
Although miking was done on behalf of the market committees, the scenario remained the same throughout. Such a situation definitely raises a question regarding the lack of awareness among the citizens.
