Bidhan Nagar, 03rd June: A peacock was rescued from a locality in Bidhan Nagar, Phansidewa block, after being spotted by a resident. The locals quickly acted to secure the bird and informed the police. Officers from Bidhan Nagar police station arrived on the scene, retrieved the peacock, and brought it to the police station.
Upon notifying the Ghoshpukur Range, forest personnel promptly arrived to take over the care of the peacock. After a thorough health examination, the peacock was released back into the forest. The police and forest department are currently investigating the origin of the peacock and how it ended up in the locality.
