Alipurduar, 17th June: In a tragic incident in the Itkhola neighbourhood of Ward No. 13, Alipurduar, an elderly woman lost her life after being hit by a passenger train. The deceased has been identified as Laliya Paswan, a 60-year-old resident of Gumti, located near the railway line.
According to reports, Laliya was trying to cross the railway tracks to retrieve clothes when she was unexpectedly struck by a train en route to Bamanhat. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries immediately. The unfortunate incident has left the local residents grieving.
