Bagdogra, 21st September: A horrifying incident occurred in Bagdogra when a passenger was severely injured after being run over by a government bus. The incident took place at the Bihar More area in Bagdogra. The injured passenger, identified as Fajirul Rahman, is a resident of Chopra.
Reportedly, an N.B.S.T.C. bus, travelling towards Siliguri, had stopped at the Bihar More area of Bagdogra to drop off several passengers. Subsequently, several passengers were getting off the bus when the vehicle suddenly accelerated. This led Fajirul to lose his balance and fall and his leg was run over by the bus’s wheel. Upon being alarmed by his scream, the local residents rushed to his help. Later, Fajirul was transported to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the bus driver fled the scene amid the chaos. However, the bus conductor was apprehended by traffic police at the Bagdogra Traffic Guard. The Bagdogra Traffic Guard and the Bagdogra police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
