Malda, 06th February: Two school students, identified as Sudipta Barui (12) and Nibaran Mallick (12), were severely injured after being hit by a passenger-laden car, on Thursday morning, at Lakshmipur, Malda. The injured have been identified as residents of the Daulatpur Colony area of the Kotwali Gram Panchayat under the English Bazar block.
It was reported that Sudipta and Nibaran were on their way to school, on their bicycles, during which, a small passenger car, in the said area, lost its control and hit them. Both of them were severely injured in the incident. The agitated locals vandalized the car and rushed the 2 injured to the hospital. However, the situation was brought under control after the intervention from the Police.
The Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
