Sukhia Pokhari, 08th July: The ongoing Panchayat elections in various booths of the Jorebunglow-Sukhia Pokhari block, situated in the Darjeeling district, have been conducted in a peaceful manner so far. There have been no reports of any untoward incidents.
As per the information, the voting process is underway among 115 candidates vying for 39 seats in the Panchayat Committee, as well as 388 candidates competing for 145 seats in 16 Gram Panchayats, under the purview of the Jorebunglow-Sukhia Pokhari Block Development Office. Today, all election personnel and security personnel are diligently carrying out their duties in the respective Gram Panchayat booths to ensure the smooth conduct of elections across the 138 designated booths within this developmental area.
