Opposition accuses Siliguri Mayor of providing incorrect information on dengue

Siliguri, 23rd October: Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb is facing criticism from opposition leader Amit Jain, who alleges that the Mayor is providing false information regarding dengue in the city.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Jain highlighted that October and November are critical months for dengue, as mosquito infestations typically surge during this period.

According to Jain, the Mayor’s statements claiming that dengue is spreading from a central government warehouse in Ward No. 27 are entirely inaccurate. He clarified that the warehouse in question is actually under state government jurisdiction. Jain accused the Mayor of making such claims to divert attention from his own failures, asserting that accurate dengue reports are not being shared with the opposition.

Further, the Opposition Leader stated that all pertinent information will be disclosed at the upcoming board meeting.
