Balurghat, 25th February: An individual died in a road accident in the Badamile area of Balurghat, while two others were severely injured. The deceased has been identified as Malay Das while the injured have been identified as Alif Sikdar and Pappu Sarkar.
An atmosphere of tension has engulfed the area, after the incident that occurred on Monday night, after an angry mob blocked the National Highway. It has been alleged that three vehicles, parked on the road, were also set on fire.
On the other hand, IC Gautam Roy of the Balurghat Police Station, DSP Headquarter Dhiman Mitra and a huge police force reached the spot, upon receiving the information about the incident. Meanwhile, fire engines also reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The police are currently investigating the entire incident.
