Rajganj, 16th October: A heart-wrenching incident surfaced from the Sariam area on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway (NH) where a young individual was tragically killed in a road accident while another was severely injured. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Mufti Ajam (21), a resident of the Gadheyagachh area under the Binnaguri Gram Panchayat.
According to reports, on Sunday night, four young individuals, including the deceased, were riding back home on two motorbikes from the Talma area after shooting a video. Meanwhile, a speeding four-wheeler abruptly struck Mohammad Mufti’s motorcycle from behind. As a result, the two young men on the two-wheeler fell on the road and suffered significant injuries. Upon witnessing the accident the locals hurried to the rescue and transported the injured to a private hospital in Fulbari. However, the medical professionals declared Mohammad Mufti dead upon arrival.
In the meantime, the injured youth Anup Majumdar is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. The incident left the entire region in a state of mourning. Following the tragedy, Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed and local panchayat member Zakir Hussain visited the deceased’s residence and assured to support the family members.
