Bagdogra, 05th April: A horrifying mishap surfaced from Bagdogra earlier on Friday where an individual suffered significant injuries in a head-on collision between a four-wheeler and pickup van at the Panighata More on the Asian Highway 2 (AH2).
According to reports, the pickup van, loaded with fish, was en route from Bihar to Siliguri. However, the vehicle accidentally collided with the four-wheeler while heading towards the flyover at the Panighata More. Reportedly, the individual driving the four-wheeler was a veteran army official who suffered severe injuries during the accident. Meanwhile, the pickup van driver left his vehicle and fled the scene.
The injured driver was transported to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for medical treatment. Upon receiving the information about the incident, the Bagdogra police arrived at the location and retrieved the vehicle with the assistance of a crane. In this regard, the locals blamed the injured driver responsible for the mishap while the police are further investigating the entire incident.
