Rajganj, 29th December: One died and four fell sick due to food poisoning at Nawapara of Sahudangi in Rajganj block. The deceased has been identified as Tanushree Roy (21).
It has been learned that Namita Roy (42), Ananta Roy (22), Manisha Roy (22), Shruti Roy (03), and Tanushree Roy(21) ate their meal together on Sunday afternoon. Following this, they fell sick and all, except the child, were rushed to Siliguri District Hospital. Ananta, Manisha, and Tanushree were further shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, where Tanushree died on Tuesday night.
The family members said that a special kind of food was prepared for the Rajbangshi community. It has been primarily assumed that the incident happened due to food poisoning.
The incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the entire area.
