Alipurduar, 06th January: A person has been arrested with a large quantity of stolen segun wood.
It has been learned that after receiving a tip-off, the Birpara police of Alipurduar district along with the officers of the transport department carried out Naka checking on National Highway. At that time, the police detained a truck traveling from Assam to Siliguri. After searching the vehicle, 600 CFT Segun wood was recovered. A person has been arrested in the incident.
According to police sources, the estimated market value of the recovered wood is Rs 50 lakh rupees.
