Cooch Behar, 09 November: In a significant breakthrough, the Special Task Force (STF) arrested an individual with fake currency notes in Dinhata’s Nazirhat market. The arrested accused has been identified as Nazir Hussain (32), a resident of the Dighaltari area under Nazirhat II Gram Panchayat (GP).
As per reports, on Wednesday evening, the STF launched a tip-off operation and arrested Nazir Hussain from the Nazirhat Bazaar area of Dinhata. Following the arrest, counterfeit currency amounting to Rs 1,45,500 was recovered. Subsequently, the STF handed over the accused to the Sahebganj police station.
Meanwhile, Nazir’s wife claimed her husband to be innocent. She added the matter was plotted and the allegations raised against her husband were untrue. At present, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire matter.
