Alipurduar, 10th August: Falakata police arrested a youth with brown sugar in his possession on Wednesday night. The accused has been identified as Imran Ali (21), a resident of Kaliachak.
As per police sources, Falakata police, acting on a tip-off, launched an operation at a lodge located in the city and interrogated an individual. Following this, a search was initiated where 50 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the suspect’s possession. Subsequently, the accused was arrested, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, in the presence of Block Development Officer (BDO) of Falakata Supratik Majumdar and Falakata Police Station IC Samit Talukdar. At present, police are engaged in further investigation.
