Kharibari, 01st December: In a recent development, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and officials of Karibari Panitanki Outpost launched an operation and apprehended an individual with brown sugar. The incident surfaced from the Quarter More area adjacent to Panitanki in Kharibari. The arrested individual has been identified as Biswa Barman alias Bahadur (31), a resident of Prasadu Jote.
As per reports, on Thursday, the team of officials conducted a raid, based on a tip-off, at the aforementioned area and apprehended an individual with a two-wheeler on suspicion. During the search, the officials recovered 101 grams of brown sugar prompting the arrest of the suspect.
According to police sources, the individual was previously arrested in a similar incident. On Friday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court. At present, the entire incident is under police investigation.
