Kharibari, 16th June: The Kharibari police apprehended one in connection with a brazen snatching incident that occurred in the Chakkarmari area along the Bengal-Bihar border of Kharibari. The arrested individual has been identified as Pintu Goala, a resident of Irani Basti in Rajganj.
According to reports, the arrest was made after an incident on June 10, where two robbers on a motorcycle approached a residence in Chakkarmari and snatched a gold chain from a woman in broad daylight. The woman immediately lodged a complaint at the Kharibari police station. Subsequently, Pintu Goala was identified with the aid of the CCTV footage and successfully arrested.
Police sources revealed that Pintu Goala has a prior criminal record involved in robbery cases previously reported in Bihar and Rajasthan. On Sunday, Goala was presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court for further legal proceedings. At present, the officials are engaged in further investigation of the matter.
