Siliguri, 16th September: Matigara Police have arrested one person in connection with the theft of AC wires from a shopping mall in Shiv Mandir, Siliguri. The arrested accused has been identified as Nikki Das.
As per reports, the theft took place on September 9. Following the incident, the owner of the shopping mall lodged a written complaint at Matigara Police Station.
Based on the complaint, Matigara Police began investigating the case. During the investigation, police launched an operation near Jora Bridge in Tumba Jote, Matigara, on Tuesday night based on information received from various sources and arrested the accused.
During questioning, the accused reportedly admitted to hiding the stolen AC wires in the Lichu Bagan area. Police subsequently recovered the stolen wires based on information provided by him.
The accused was produced before the Siliguri court on Wednesday. Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
