Bagdogra, 20th September: A trafficker was arrested while attempting to smuggle deer antlers on Panighata Road in Bagdogra. The arrested individual, identified as Subran Baraik, is a resident of Oodlabari.
According to reports, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel from the 8th battalion conducted the operation based on a tip-off. Subsequently, the suspect was apprehended and two deer antlers were recovered from his possession. The seized antlers were later handed over to the Bagdogra Forest Department.
The accused is set to be presented in the Siliguri Sub-Division court on Saturday. The Forest Department has initiated an investigation to identify other possible suspects involved in this case.
