Naxalbari, 19th February: A notorious miscreant, identified as Ishwar Das, has been arrested in connection with multiple theft cases in Naxalbari. Police recovered a stolen scooty and a pair of silver anklets from his possession.
According to police sources, the accused allegedly carried out thefts in broad daylight across Naxalbari. On Wednesday night, police noticed him moving suspiciously in the Naxalbari area and launched an operation, leading to his arrest.
During interrogation, police recovered a scooty and silver anklets believed to be stolen items. Sources said the accused had previously been arrested in several robbery and theft cases.
The accused was produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Thursday. Police have initiated further investigation into the matter.
