Darjeeling/Sikkim, 04th January: Due to snowfall in Darjeeling and Sikkim, since Friday morning, the temperature has decreased considerably. The people, from the plain areas, have been experiencing cold due to the rainfall, since yesterday.
There was heavy snowfall at night at Sandakphu and Phalut in Darjeeling and Lachen, Nathula, and other hill areas of Sikkim, due to which, the entire North Bengal including Siliguri has been experiencing cold during the winters.
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be no significant change in the weather for the next few days. On the other hand, tourists in the hill areas like Darjeeling and Sikkim are enjoying the weather. The number of tourists has been increasing in the various tourist centers of the hills.
