With the second wave of COVID-19, the country is facing fresh lockdowns in various states. West Bengal reported 8,419 cases within 24 hours. However, the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee directed to not impose lockdown in the state, despite the rise of COVID-19 cases.
Addressing the media CM said that lockdown cannot prevent the COVID-19 cases as thousands of people are coming from outside the state and imposition of lockdown will make common people suffer. She further denied the “night curfew” also.
