NJP police foiled attempt of animal trafficking, rescued 36 buffaloes, two arrested from Fulbari

Siliguri, 30th April: The undercover police of NJP police station foiled an attempt of animal trafficking by apprehending two trucks loaded with buffaloes. The animals were being trafficked from Bihar to Assam. In this regard, two individuals, identified as Abdur Rahim and Saki Anwar, associated with the trucks were arrested who were unable to produce any valid documents regarding their load.


Reportedly, the NJP undercover police after receiving intelligence inputs initiated an operation in Fulbari toll gate area and apprehended two trucks. Upon search, police found 36 buffaloes which were recovered and rescued safely.

According to police sources, Abdur and Saki were involved in the animal trafficking business from a very long time. Today, the accused have been produced before the Jalpaiguri Court, while the matter is under further police investigation.
