Siliguri, 22nd September: Three criminals, allegedly planning a robbery under the cover of darkness, were arrested in the Surya Sen Colony area under NJP police station. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ujjwal Bala, Jiten Chakraborty, and Bharat Barman, all residents of Shantipara.
According to police sources, late on Saturday night, the trio, armed with sharp weapons, was spotted loitering suspiciously in the area. Acting on a tip-off, NJP police launched an operation, during which the suspects attempted to flee upon seeing the police vehicle. However, after a brief chase, all three were successfully apprehended.
The trio was presented in Jalpaiguri District Court on Sunday. At present, the police are continuing their investigation into the case.
