Siliguri, 19th November: Based on a tip-off, the NJP police, on Wednesday night, launched operations near Fulbari Tollgate area and arrested two men on the charges of coal smuggling. A coal-laden truck has been seized in the incident.
The arrested accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar Singh, resident of Bihar, and Gopal Hazra, resident of Purba Bardhaman.
According to police sources, the coal was being smuggled from Assam to Bihar. The arrested individuals were produced at the court on Thursday.
