Siliguri, 26th February: The NJP police arrested two men for robbery at a residence in Jatiyakali adjacent to Fulbari. The arrested accused have been identified as MD Mubarak and MD Azad, residents of Purnia in Bihar.
It is to be noted that on February 11, a burglary took place at a residence in the said area. The thieves broke into the house and fled away with gold jewellery and cash. The house owners later lodged a complaint at the NJP police station. Based on the complaint, the police launched investigations and arrested two men from the Fulbari Paschim Dhantala area.
According to police sources, the duo used to come from Bihar, stay in rented houses temporarily, and carry out housebreakings. The arrested individuals were sent to Jalpaiguri court on Friday. A remand application has been filed at the court for further investigation.
