Siliguri, 02nd September: In a significant breakthrough, the police thwarted a major cannabis smuggling attempt and arrested two miscreants in connection to the case. The arrested individuals have been identified as Liton Oraon and Jamir Hossain.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid in the Tinbatti More area and arrested the duo with 21 kilograms of cannabis. Police sources revealed that the accused duo travelled from Cooch Behar to deliver the contraband in Siliguri.
The accused duo was presented before the Jalpaiguri Court on Wednesday under the registered NDPS Act. At present, the police officials are engaged in further investigation of the entire incident.
