NJP Jatiytabadi Railway Thika Shramik Union held rally demanding repair of dilapidated road

Siliguri, 09th October: The workers and supporters of the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Jatiyatabadi Railway Thika Shramik Union carried out a rally demanding the repair of a stretch of road from NJP station to Tinbatti More. The rally commenced at Netaji More and ended at the railway station.


As per reports, after a prolonged demonstration in front of the Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM’s) office, the organization submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Security Commissioner of Railways, due to the absence of the ADRM.

In this regard, Siliguri Town Block III INTTUC President Sujay Sarkar stated that the road from NJP station to Tinbatti More has been in a deplorable condition for a long time. He added that, every day trucks and goods-laden vehicles, including tourists, commute through the said road. The dilapidated condition of the said road also results in accidents. Furthermore, he stated that in view of the importance of the road and the safety of the commuters, a rally was carried out demanding its immediate restoration.
