The domestic stock market opened with a boom on the first trading day of the week. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s major index Sensex (Sensex) opened 577 points higher at 61,398. At the same time, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also opened with a gain of 8 points at 18,123.45.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 25 shares gained and 5 shares declined, Bajaj Finserv shares were up 5.15%, L&T, HDFC and Axis Bank gained more than 3% and Dr Reddy’s shares witnessed a decline of 1.9%. On the other hand, realty, metal and banking stocks also saw a rise.
With the market booming due to positive global cues, investors’ confidence has increased due to the rapid pace of vaccination and the decrease in corona cases.
