NH10 remains shut in Selfi Danda despite PWD efforts

News Desk: National Highway 10 (NH10) in Selfi Danda officially remains closed despite the Department’s efforts to open it after cutting through a portion of the wall. Initially closed on June 30 due to disruptions caused by the river, the highway closure has severely impacted daily life for the past 19 days.

The Public Works Department (PWD) had attempted traffic management and road clearance operations successfully, but the full reopening of NH10 has been delayed due to the collapsing of the highway caused by the Teesta River. The administration is going to officially open the highway for regular traffic soon after a complete inspection.

Meanwhile, the local residents and drivers have expressed frustration over the prolonged closure, highlighting difficulties faced in their daily routines. As a result, they urged swift action from the administration to reopen NH10 at the earliest.
