Gajoldoba, 13th December: A new market complex will be constructed and Gajoldoba Bazaar will be beautified as part of a development initiative.

On Saturday, Rajganj MLA and Chairman of the Gajoldoba Development Authority, Khageswar Roy, visited the site to inspect the planned works.

During the visit, MLA Khageswar Roy was accompanied by Rajganj Panchayat Samiti President Rupali Dey Sarkar, Sub-Divisional Officer of Malbazar, and other local representatives and administrative officials.

Gajoldoba, located near the popular tourist destination ‘Bhorer Alo’ in Rajganj, attracts a large number of visitors from various districts and states every day. Local vendors set up stalls offering a variety of food and products to cater to tourists. To make the market more organised and attractive, the development authority has planned the construction of a new market complex along with beautification works.

MLA Khageswar Roy stated that under the initiative of the Gajoldoba Development Authority, the market will be renovated at an estimated cost of approximately ₹1.3 crore. Construction of eight new shops has already been completed, and more shops will be built in the coming days. Business owners will be shifted to the newly constructed shops, after which the old shops will be demolished to make way for the planned construction of the remaining shops.

Officials and representatives expressed optimism that the project will not only improve infrastructure for business owners but also enhance the appeal of Gajoldoba Bazaar for tourists.
