Nepal national arrested on charges of smuggling narcotics at the Indo-Nepal border in Kharibari

Kharibari, 16th June: The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) arrested a Nepal national for possessing narcotics during border patrolling near the Panitanki area of Kharibari. The arrested youth has been identified as Ved Prasad Rajvanshi (19), a resident of Arjundhara in Jhapa district of Nepal.


According to reports, the youth was apprehended by the 41st battalion of the SSB when the personnel intercepted the youth attempting to smuggle drugs into Nepal from Panitanki. Following a search, the officials found 100 grams of brown sugar in the youth’s possession. Subsequently, the SSB promptly handed him over to the Kharibari police.

On Sunday, the youth was presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court for legal proceedings. The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the entire incident.
