Siliguri, 07th May: A massive tree unexpectedly crashed onto Sevoke Road in Siliguri, narrowly sparing the lives of pedestrians but resulting in injuries and severe damage to vehicles. Amidst chaos in the Don Bosco More area, a girl was injured as the towering tree collapsed, crushing an e-rickshaw and a scooty.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the aged tree, situated near Don Bosco More under the jurisdiction of Bhakti Nagar police station, suddenly toppled onto the road. Significantly, individuals nearby managed to move away in time to avoid being caught under the falling tree. However, a young girl sustained injuries and was promptly taken to a private hospital for medical care.
Upon receiving news of the tree obstructing the road, the officials from the Bhakti Nagar police station and traffic police swiftly responded, containing the situation and promptly clearing the tree to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and pedestrians.
