Siliguri, 13th November: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team inspected the Mahananda river ghat on Friday. The representatives inspected various issues including the depth of river water. The administration is hopeful that Chhat Puja’s clearance will be granted after the inspection process is completed.
It is to be noted that the beautification work of the Mahananda river bank had started under the initiative of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. However, several problems have come up towards the completion of the work. As railings have been made near the riverbank, people will face difficulties in Chhath Puja. The SJDA has assured to provide a solution in this regard soon.
