Nationwide strike called, mixed impact seen in Siliguri

Siliguri, 12th February: Central trade unions and farmer organizations have called a nationwide strike on Thursday. The impact of the strike was also seen in Siliguri, with several markets and shops across the city remaining closed. Since morning, members of various organizations and trade unions took to the streets in support of the strike.


Meanwhile, the Higher Secondary examinations began today. To ensure convenience for examinees, transport services were kept outside the purview of the strike. As a result, buses, autos, and totos were seen operating normally on different city roads.

In several areas, bandh supporters were seen visiting shops and banks and asking them to shut down.
