Fulbari, 29th September: In a distressing incident, the mutilated body of a newborn found in Fulbari has created a stir across the area. The body was found in the Paschim Dhantala area along the Mahananda River in the Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat near Siliguri on Sunday.
According to local sources, on Sunday morning, the residents of the area spotted a dog attempting to move something. Upon a closer look, they found out that it was the body of an infant.
Subsequently, the NJP police were informed of the incident. The officials arrived at the scene, recovered the body and transported it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. At present, the entire incident is under further investigation.
