MP Raju Bista scoffed regarding preparations taken by leaders in the hills over Centre’s ‘tripartite meeting’

Siliguri, 16th August: A tripartite meeting may be held for a lasting political solution in the hills. However, the date of the meeting has not been decided yet and no member list has been made. However, Bimal Gurung, Anit Thapa, and Binoy Tamang have already started preparations to attend the meeting.

Darjeeling MP Raju Bista arrived at Bagdogra airport today and said sarcastically, “The date of the wedding has not been fixed yet, but the groom is ready.”

Bista said that the Home Ministry will decide the meeting date and regrading the members who will be present at the tripartite meeting. However, even before the date has been announced, three leaders in the hills have already started preparations. He also expressed concern over whether these three leaders would be able to participate in the meeting.

Taking a jibe at TMC’s Khela Hobe Diwas, Bista said “It is not a football match. No political party should use this word. On this day, 15,000 people lost their lives in Kolkata. 1 lakh people had become homeless.”

He also condemned the Tripura incident and said that efforts are being made to create unrest in Tripura.
