Siliguri, 12th July: The recent landslide in Manipur claimed 18 lives of army jawans from 107 number battalion. Out of which, 11 belonged from the hills of North Bengal. MP Raju Bista, visited the families of the two martyred jawans in Kurseong. The family got emotional during his visit and shared their grief with the MP.
Firstly, Raju Bista, visited the family of the martyred Milan Tamang and assured all the possible help and aid from his side. He also listened to the bereaved families’ problems and asserted to find a solution to their problems. After his visit to Tamang’s house, he then paid a visit to martyred Bedhyan Rai’s family. He asked the grieving parents of the soldier to keep their spirits high during the difficult times of their life. He also assured to extend all possible help and assistance to both the daughters of the jawan from their primary to higher education.
After meeting with the bereaved families of the two jawans, MP said that due to time constraints he was able to meet only two families of the jawans who were killed in the landslide in Manipur. He stated that he will soon pay visit to the hills to meet other families of the jawans as well.
