Siliguri, 14th February: Darjeeling Lok Sabha MP Raju Bista on Saturday inspected the ongoing construction work of the much-awaited railway overbridge at Darjeeling More in Siliguri. During the visit, he reviewed the progress of the project with officials and representatives of the construction agency.
After the inspection, the MP stated that Darjeeling More and its surrounding areas have long been facing severe traffic congestion and expressed hope that the completion of the overbridge would streamline traffic movement and improve connectivity in the city. He directed officials to ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated timeline while maintaining quality standards.
During the visit, Bista also targeted Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, alleging that delays in land transfer led to setbacks in the project. He further claimed that the state government has failed to deliver the expected performance in development works. The MP asserted that several major development projects were executed during the CPI(M) regime, while the present BJP-led central government is pushing forward key development initiatives.
