MP Raju Bista calls upon WB Governor and CBI to probe TET Exam irregularities in the Hills

On Tuesday, Member of Parliament (MP) from Darjeeling, Raju Bista, took the initiative to seek justice in the alleged irregularities surrounding the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in the hills. Bista engaged with West Bengal Governor, Dr. C.V. Anand Bose, and the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Praveen Sood, urging them to conduct a criminal investigation into the suspected misconduct of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) affiliated individuals responsible for the illegitimate TET exam.


The MP revealed that over 14000 aspiring youths from the Darjeeling and Kalimpong hills, including parts of Terai and Dooars have filled out the forms for the exam. Additionally, the MP also mentioned an RTI filed with the West Bengal Department of School Education by a resident of Darjeeling.

The RTI questioned for relevant details regarding the authority of the GTA to conduct the TET exam. In response, the Joint Secretary to the Govt of WB, School Education Department stated that the GTA was not accorded with any authority to conduct the TET exam.


In this regard, MP Raju Bista stated that he urged the CBI Director to initiate an investigation into the matter to bring to light the individuals involved in the alleged conspiracy to conduct the exam and dupe the youths of the region. The MP added that he also requested the WB Education Minister Bratya Basu to order a free and fair investigation by competent authorities as the matter may involve a possible money laundering.
