Jalpaiguri, 31st March: A tragic road accident near the Teesta bridge at Bala Para on NH-27 in Jalpaiguri claimed the life of a motorcyclist late Sunday night.
According to local sources, the accident occurred around 1 a.m. when a vehicle hit the biker. The body reportedly lay on the road for a long time before being noticed. The deceased has been identified as Dilip Das, a resident of Patkata area in Jalpaiguri. Police reached the spot after being informed and recovered the body.
The incident has raised concerns among the public, as this marks the third death due to accidents on the same stretch in the past 10 days. Police have stated that precautionary measures will be taken to prevent further mishaps.
